PISTOL 1A: Pistol basics

This introductory class is designed for someone with little to no experience using a handgun. Class sizes are kept small for more one on one time on the range.

Instructors: All instructors for this course are required to have NRA Certification and or have prior Military, Law Enforcement or competitive shooting backgrounds

Focus areas within this course include:

  • Universal Firearm Safety
  • Different types of handguns and their actions
  • Types of ammunition
  • Safe loading and unloading procedures
  • Live-fire exercises to demonstrate proper loading and unloading and safe handling procedures learned

3 hours class time and 1 hour range time

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 50 rounds of ammunition for the firearm you will use.

PISTOL 1B: Precision Pistol

This introductory course is designed around learning the fundamental skills behind shooting handguns both safely and accurately. The Pistol Precision course is designed for those who have been shooting for a while but need to learn how to be more accurate. Course instruction includes classroom work, hands on dry-fire practice and live fire exercises designed to improve your shooting skills.

Instructors: All instructors for this course are required to have NRA Certifications and or have prior Military, Law Enforcement or competitive shooting backgrounds

Focus areas within this course include:

  • Universal Firearm Safety
  • grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger squeeze
  • Precision shooting techniques/ Diagnosing your target
  • Great preparation for students interested in moving on to more advanced shooting courses and CCW

2 hours class time and 2 hours range time

Prerequisites

Students are required to be able to safely load and unload their firearms unassisted and be familiar with their firearm operation.

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at LEAST 100 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use.

PISTOL 2: Holster Fundamentals

Holster Fundamentals builds upon the skills found in the Precision Pistol course. This course focuses on precision and speed from the holster. This course will teach you exercises to help you become proficient with drawing your handgun quickly and accurately place rounds on target.

Instructors: All instructors for this course are required to have NRA Certification and or have prior Military, Law Enforcement or competitive shooting backgrounds

Focus areas within this course include:

  • Proper methods to draw from the holster (Strong Side)
  • Accuracy with shooting the first shot from the holster
  • Multi-round shots & follow through
  • Appropriate sight picture at various target distances
  • Shooting under stress and follow through assessment

30min class time, remainder is range time 7-8hrs

Class Prerequisites:

Students must have the basic skills required to safely load unload and operate their firearm without any assistance and be able to consistently shoot 4” groups at 21ft. Students MUST have all appropriate equipment and gear prior to attending this course. Failure to meet these guidelines will prohibit you from attending the course.

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 500 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use

Semi-automatic pistol with three (3) magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with three (3) speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders

A quality strong-side holster that has 2 points of contact and does not collapse (no shoulder holsters, purse holsters, these skills can be taught privately and in specialty courses.) Contact us for details.

PISTOL 3: Fighting Pistol I

The Fighting Pistol I course builds upon the skills found in the Holster Fundamentals course and on your own personal experience. This course focuses on the more complex movements required for advanced level shooting. This is an 7-8 hour class not including lunch.

Instructors: All instructors for this course are required to have NRA Certifications and/ or have prior Military, Law Enforcement or competitive shooting backgrounds

Focus areas within this course include:

  • Proper methods to draw from Concealment (Strong Side)
  • Accuracy with shooting the first shot from the holster
  • Multi-round shots & follow through
  • Advanced reloading techniques, advanced malfunction clearances
  • Shooting under stress and follow through assessment

1 hour class time, remainder is range time

Class Prerequisites:

Students must have the basic skills required to safely load unload and operate their firearm without any assistance and be able to consistently shoot 4” groups at 21ft. Students MUST have all appropriate equipment and gear prior to attending this course.

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 500 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use.

Semi-automatic pistol with three (3) magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with three (3) speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders.

A quality strong-side holster (open or concealed) that has 2 points of contact and does not collapse (no shoulder holsters, purse holsters permitted)

Course tuition is $200.00

PISTOL 4: Fighting Pistol II

The Fighting Pistol II course introduces lowlight shooting with proper use of cover and concealment that might be found in your home or when out in public. Fighting with your pistol while holding a flashlight can be complex, in this class you will learn how expose your opponent without exposing yourself. This class is an 7-8hr class not including lunch. It includes classroom work, hands-on dry-fire practice and live-fire drills.

Instructors: All instructors for this course are required to have NRA Certification and/ or have prior Military, Law Enforcement or competitive shooting backgrounds

Focus areas within this course include:

  • Will include all previously learned skills (now incorporating flashlight manipulation)
  • Draw stroke can include concealment if you choose
  • Reloading & malfunction drills
  • Basic shooting with cover/concealment
  • Basic low light shooting techniques

30min class time, remainder is range time

Class Prerequisites:

Students MUST have all appropriate equipment and gear prior to attending this course. Successful completion of Pistol 3 Fighting pistol I or equivalent. Failure to meet these guidelines will prohibit you from attending the course.

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 500 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use

Semi-automatic pistol with three (3) magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with three (3) speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders

A quality strong-side holster that has two points of contact and does not collapse for this course (no shoulder holsters, purse holsters)

Hand held flashlight that uses a momentary switch only, not an on/off switch.

PISTOL 5: Fighting Pistol III

Fighting Pistol III is our most advanced pistol fighting class that incorporates dynamic movement to and from your intended target using proper cover and concealment. This 7-8 hour class builds upon the skills found in the Fighting Pistol II course in one day, and includes classroom work, hands on dry-fire practice and live-fire drills with low light conditions.

Instructors: All instructors for this course are required to have NRA Certifications and/ or have prior Military, Law Enforcement or competitive shooting backgrounds

Focus areas within this course include:

  • Dynamic shooting with movement/low light
  • Dynamic shooting with cover/concealment/low light
  • Dynamic low light shooting techniques
  • Close quarter/retention shooting

30min class time, remainder is range time

Class Prerequisites:

Students MUST have all appropriate equipment and gear prior to attending this course and have successfully completed Fighting Pistol II or equivalent.

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 500 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use.

Semi-automatic pistol with three (3) magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with three (3) speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders.

 A quality strong side holster that has two points of contact and does not collapse (no shoulder holsters, purse holsters,). Hand held flashlight that uses a momentary switch only, not an on/off switch.

2 Day Fighting Pistol

The 2 day Fighting Pistol course , takes you outside the static range environment. We begin with essential pistol precision skills, speed and precision out of the holster, before applying these principles to concealed carry. We then turn to malfunction management and dynamic movement drills. We will finish day two by using judgment to engage targets under critical time standards. Each class is tailored to the student in attendance regardless of background or experience. Multiple instructors will be on hand to provide a one on one experience through each process of learning.

Class Prerequisites:

Students must have the basic skills required to safely load unload and operate their firearm without any assistance. Students MUST have all appropriate equipment and gear prior to attending this course.

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 800-1000 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use.

Semi-automatic pistol with three (3) magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with three (3) speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders.

A quality strong-side holster (open or concealed) that has 2 points of contact and does not collapse (no shoulder holsters, purse holsters permitted)

Course tuition is $400.00

2 Day Fighting Pistol Low Light

Fighting in the dark isn’t practiced enough. Most incidents of self-defense happen in low light or poor light and requires special considerations when manipulating your firearm. Fighting Pistol Low Light introduces low light shooting with proper use of cover and concealment that might be found in your home or when out in public. Fighting with your pistol while holding a flashlight can be complex, in this class you will learn how expose your opponent without exposing yourself. Day two incorporates dynamic movement to and from your intended target using proper cover and concealment. Under timed stress you will have to search and engage proper targets. Many instructors will be on hand to help provide a more one on one experience through the learning process.

Class Prerequisites:

Students MUST have all appropriate equipment and gear prior to attending this course and have successfully completed Fighting Pistol II or equivalent with instructor exception.

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 800 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use.

Semi-automatic pistol with three (3) magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with three (3) speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders.

 A quality strong side holster that has two points of contact and does not collapse (no shoulder holsters, purse holsters,). Hand held flashlight that uses a momentary switch only, not an on/off switch. Students may want to bring more than one 100+ lumens.
