PISTOL 1A: Pistol basics

This introductory class is designed for someone with little to no experience using a handgun. Class sizes are kept small for more one on one time on the range.

Focus areas within this course include:

  • Universal Firearm Safety
  • Different types of handguns and their actions
  • Types of ammunition
  • Safe loading and unloading procedures
  • Live-fire exercises to demonstrate proper loading and unloading and safe handling procedures learned

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 50 rounds of ammunition for the firearm you will use.

PISTOL 1B: Precision Pistol

This introductory course is designed around learning the fundamental skills behind shooting handguns both safely and accurately. The Pistol Precision course is designed for those who have been shooting for a while but need to learn how to be more accurate. Course instruction includes classroom work, hands on dry-fire practice and live fire exercises designed to improve your shooting skills.

Focus areas within this course include:

  • Universal Firearm Safety
  • grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger squeeze
  • Precision shooting techniques/ Diagnosing your target
  • Great preparation for students interested in moving on to more advanced shooting courses and CCW

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at LEAST 200 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use.

PISTOL 2: Holster Fundamentals

Holster Fundamentals builds upon the skills found in the Precision Pistol course. This course focuses on precision and speed from the holster. This course will teach you exercises to help you become proficient with drawing your handgun quickly and accurately place rounds on target. Our goal is to get you down to 1.5 seconds before end of class.

Focus areas within this course include:

  • Proper methods to draw from the holster
  • Accuracy with shooting the first shot from the holster
  • Multi-round shots & follow through
  • Appropriate sight picture at various target distances
  • Shooting under stress and follow through assessment

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 300 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use

Semi-automatic pistol with three (3) magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with three (3) speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders

A quality strong-side holster that has 2 points of contact and does not collapse (no shoulder holsters, purse holsters, these skills can be taught privately and in specialty courses.) Contact us for details.

PISTOL 3: EDC Essentials

The EDC Essentials course builds upon the skills found in the Holster Fundamentals course and on your own personal experience. This course focuses on the more complex thinking on your feet required for defensive carry. This course will take you out of the comfort zone of what you think you know and present you will real life scenarios and judgmental shooting. This is an 7-8 hour class not including lunch.

Focus areas within this course include:

  • Drawing from Concealment
  • Accuracy with shooting the first shot from the holster
  • Multi-round shots & follow through
  • Reloads and malfunctions under timed induced stress
  • Shooting under timed induced stress and follow through assessment
  • Judgmental shooting

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 500 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use.

Semi-automatic pistol with three (3) magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with three (3) speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders.

A quality strong-side holster (open or concealed) that has 2 points of contact and does not collapse (no shoulder holsters, purse holsters permitted)

PISTOL 4: Home Defensive concepts

The Home Defensive Concepts course introduces shooting with proper use of cover and concealment that might be found in your home or when out in public. Fighting with your pistol with family present ads a new level of stress and discomfort. In this class you will learn how expose your opponent without exposing yourself. This class is an 7-8hr class not including lunch. 

Focus areas within this course include:

  • Will include a review of all previously learned skills 
  • All work will be done from concealment
  • Reloading & malfunction drills
  • Shooting with cover/concealment
  • Family member protection concepts

Class Prerequisites:

Students MUST have all appropriate equipment and gear prior to attending this course. Successful completion of Pistol 3 EDC Essentials or equivalent. Failure to meet these guidelines will prohibit you from attending the course. 

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 500 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use

Semi-automatic pistol with three (3) magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with three (3) speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders

A quality strong-side holster that has two points of contact and does not collapse for this course (no shoulder holsters, purse holsters) AIWB is ok.

PISTOL 5: Home Defensive Concepts Low Light

Home Defensive Concepts low light is our most advanced pistol fighting class that incorporates dynamic movement to and from your intended target using proper cover and concealment. This 7-8 hour class builds upon the skills found in the Home Defensive Concepts course in one day, and includes hands on dry-fire practice and live-fire drills with low light conditions.

Focus areas within this course include:

  • Dynamic shooting with movement/low light
  • Dynamic shooting with cover/concealment/low light
  • Dynamic low light shooting techniques
  • Close quarter/retention shooting

Class Prerequisites:

Students MUST have all appropriate equipment and gear prior to attending this course and have successfully completed Home Defensive Concepts course or equivalent.

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 500 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use.

Semi-automatic pistol with three (3) magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with three (3) speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders.

 A quality strong side holster that has two points of contact and does not collapse (no shoulder holsters, purse holsters,). AIWB is ok. Hand held flashlight that uses a momentary switch only, not an on/off switch.

2 Day Fighting Pistol

The 2 day Fighting Pistol course , takes you outside the static range environment. We begin with essential pistol precision skills, speed and precision out of the holster, before applying these principles to concealed carry. We then turn to malfunction management and dynamic movement drills. We will finish day two by using judgment to engage targets under critical time standards. Each class is tailored to the student in attendance regardless of background or experience. Multiple instructors will be on hand to provide a one on one experience through each process of learning.

Class Prerequisites:

Students must have the basic skills required to safely load unload and operate their firearm without any assistance. Students MUST have all appropriate equipment and gear prior to attending this course. 

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 800-1000 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use.

Semi-automatic pistol with three (3) magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with three (3) speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders.

A quality strong-side holster (open or concealed) that has 2 points of contact and does not collapse (no shoulder holsters, purse holsters permitted)

2 Day Fighting Pistol Low Light

Fighting in the dark isn’t practiced enough. Most incidents of self-defense happen in low light or poor light and requires special considerations when manipulating your firearm. Fighting Pistol Low Light introduces low light shooting with proper use of cover and concealment that might be found in your home or when out in public. Fighting with your pistol while holding a flashlight can be complex, in this class you will learn how expose your opponent without exposing yourself. Day two incorporates dynamic movement to and from your intended target using proper cover and concealment. Under timed stress you will have to search and engage proper targets. Many instructors will be on hand to help provide a more one on one experience through the learning process.

Class Prerequisites:

Students MUST have all appropriate equipment and gear prior to attending this course and have successfully completed Fighting Pistol II or equivalent with instructor exception.

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 800 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use.

Semi-automatic pistol with three (3) magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with three (3) speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders.

 A quality strong side holster that has two points of contact and does not collapse (no shoulder holsters, purse holsters,). Hand held flashlight that uses a momentary switch only, not an on/off switch. Students may want to bring more than one 100+ lumens.
